Life Purpose
It’s pretty difficult to find the purpose of life. After a long day’s work, you come at home and find your wife and children asleep just because you came late. You wanted to talk with your wife to relieve the stress. So then you think is this the life you demanded? Yes, you are rich and earn a lot. But at the end of the day, you just aren’t satisfied. You just think you lack humor in your life.
Just these thoughts popped up in my mind and I was reminded about my life purpose. As an engineering student, I am going through the usual norms of assignments and submissions. According to most, they are just a mentally-harassing thing given so that students remain busy for most part of the day. I just think I lack excitement. I am still searching the purpose of my life. So far I have really loved two things the most, Cricket and Writing. The latter is my genuine choice, the former one is more of a hobby. But can I make my passion my work? Surely, yes. After all, I don’t demand a life involving 8-10 hours of office work and staring at your desktop PC. I believe at some point of time, I will start my own business. You don’t have to work under someone’s supervision, at least.
But is it enough? Is finding yourself a good living enough? Here we come across the word FAMILY. A person who earns money wants to spend some quality time with his family. He wants to explore the world with his family. So the ultimate purpose of life is to seek happiness. Do the thing which gives you happiness. If a trip to your favorite place amazes you, just have it.
I think after writing this, I have found the ultimate PURPOSE of my life. I love writing a lot and wish to become a full time writer. From mediocre situations in my life, I have found ways of keeping myself happy. I need to applaud myself for it. Like anybody else, I have a dream of travelling around the world. The story described in the first stanza is actually related to one of my close relatives. He is fed up of the busy life of Delhi where he works. So after 10 long years, he’s finally decided to come to Surat. He will seek a job in Surat perhaps at a lower income. But that would at least keep him happy. He will get time for his family.
The ultimate PURPOSE of life is to seek HAPPINESS. But HAPPINESS is a relative term.
