Pursuing my passion

Today a friend made me think something very important and urgent. He says that engineering was never his passion. Yes, he used to study and score well. But he never expected engineering to be dumb and so boring. In college, you go to attend lectures. Some people ask doubts and some just pass the time. But only few ask genuine doubts. While attending labs, you do the experiment for just some time. Rest of the time you sit and complete your files. One completes his files and the others just copy. These were the thoughts of my friend.

I thought for a while and then wondered that his argument was absolutely right. But no field is dumb and boring. It depends on individual’s interests.
After coming in the 2nd year of Engineering, I have realized that this is what I always wanted to do. This was always my passion. I know that sometimes tutorial work and file completion can be boring, but here the Indian Education System is to be blamed. They made it that way.

But college is actually an exposure or an imitation of the corporate world. And the one who has a genuine interest can actually explore it. Labs provide a fantastic opportunity for someone to experiment and trial.

My friend also added that he wanted to play professional cricket for clubs. His parents agreed to it but countered that there is no future in it. So, he decided to take engineering. He still pursues his Cricket Coaching side by side. That is legitimate as far as his parents and he are concerned. He studies for his parents but coaches for his own.

Similar is my story. I want to become an engineer. But at the same time, writing has been my passion. I always loved conveying my thoughts to people. So here I am pursuing my passion in my free time. I try to keep myself engaged in some productive activity at daytime. Because ‘An ideal mind is a devil’s workshop.’
