Friends for life

On my last visit to Surat, I met my school mates on the day of Holi (Dhuleti) and indeed that was one of the best days of my life. It was a long time since I had met them. They usually met each-other frequently but I didn’t have that luxury obviously.

Nevertheless, it was a day to remember. It was followed up by a friend’s birthday (Kashish) after a few days. So, this visit to Surat was a dream come true. I have a wish and I will fulfill it somehow.

Someday, probably few years from now, me and my friends will go on an unplanned trip, say a trip to Goa. It would be such a trip that “we decided it on Thursday and we are going on Saturday”. Usually it would involve all of us to stay in Surat because only then it would be possible. After taking our necessary things, we would vanish into oblivion. After reaching there and doing the mandatory arrangements of staying and lodging, we would head out to the beach. We would spend the whole day at the beach but finally when the Sun is about to set and we know that there is a DJ Night at the hotel where we are staying, we still would prefer to stay and admire the beauty of the Sunset and the subsequent silence. This indeed will be the best moment of my life. The moment that I crave for, the most. We would start opening the box of memories of our school days, how we loved those days, how we loved every moment with each-other and how our teachers shaped our minds and lives. We would talk how we used to make small bets for even 5 Rs, how we fought with and for each-other, how cruel it was to wake up in the morning and get ready but how heart-breaking we found our farewell to be. What an irony! That day would end with tears in our eyes. One of my school-mates even cried on the last day of the school.

On any other day, we would finally decide to go to a bar and that is where I think I would find the love of my life. She will be sitting right at the bar table and then I will go near her and customarily ask her “Can I buy you a drink?” to which she would sensually (😉) reply “Why not?” and then we would be chatting about things and life, in general. I wouldn’t mind even a one-night stand with her. Perhaps my friends would obviously be focusing on getting me laid with her. But that is indeed hypothetical as there is a low chance that I will get a girl such pro-active to give me a nod on the very first meet. So, I would prefer to take her out while my friends would be busy getting drunk. I am the most girl-friendly person of my group that is to say that I can approach girls better than all my friends and I am assuming all my friends are single by the time this trip kicks on. I am not saying that being in relationship is going to be any problem but just that any attachment to any girl might hinder our privacy (😉).

On the final day of the trip, we would take selfies and pictures with each-other. Obviously, we would be clicking pictures wherever we go on the entire trip but just to cherish the moments we would take a picture together.

We would plan to meet every time we are in Surat (assuming I visit Surat occasionally) and also plan a big trip for the next year (probably a planned one) out of India or even in India. We would also discuss about starting a venture together or in other words, a small company together.

This whole (imaginary) trip will end with smiles, handshakes and hugs. We would also realize the importance of our respective families and our responsibilities towards them. This trip will not just be a fun experience but also a learning curve for us. Even if one thinks that these things happen in cinema and not in real-life, I can atleast hope that a trip like this actually happens even though all the ingredients mentioned above are not present.

P.S. A trip like this is a dream of every group of friends. Some have even endured these moments. I just hope…
