KARMA simply means "what goes around, comes around". It is the idea that the sum of all the actions that one has performed over the course of one's life affects the present and ultimately decides one's fate.  But I have a bit of a pessimistic view about this theory as well. I believe that sometimes even if someone works so hard for his goals, he is not given its due reward. But this also comes to the fact that the Karma theory not only sees the amount of hard work put in, but it also takes into account how the work has been done. For instance, someone studies hard for 20 hours a day and still doesn't get the desired result compared to someone who studies for only 5 hours and achieves more than expected. The 1st person focuses on the process and doesn't plan but the 2nd one focuses on the plan as well as process and achieves the results.
